You stay in control

We’ll never pressure you to make a decision. We listen, we help you understand your options and we support the choices you make, at your own pace.

What support looks like

1

A first conversation

We talk at a time and in a way that feels safe for you, and you share only what you want to share.

2

Exploring your options

Together we look at what’s possible, from staying safe now to planning for the future.

3

Practical next steps

We help with the things that feel hardest, one step at a time, and keep checking in.

Staying safe

Your safety comes first. If you’re in immediate danger, always call 999. If you can’t speak, call 999 from a mobile, listen to the operator and press 55 when you’re asked. This tells them you need the police.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day on 0808 2000 247.

Questions about this service

Do I have to leave my relationship to get support?

No. We support people wherever they are, including people who are still in the relationship. There’s no pressure to make any decision.

Will you tell anyone what I share with you?

What you tell us is treated with care and respect. We only share it with your agreement, unless we’re worried that you or someone else is at serious risk of harm.

Can I get support if I’m not sure it counts as abuse?

Yes. Abuse can be emotional, psychological, financial, physical or sexual, and it isn’t always easy to put into words. If something doesn’t feel right, we’re here to listen.

Ready to talk? We’re here to listen.
